Born September 29, 1944 in Lynn, MA to Mary & Charles Parent. Joyce was the youngest of three children. Growing up in New England was a wonderful experience walking the rocky beaches, hiking mountain trails, canoeing tranquil lakes, enjoying four seasons of natural landscape beauty.
Joyce was trained as an executive assistant and left the corporate world to be a mother of three daughters. Always artistic, she became a certified ceramic instructor and opened a at home-studio where she taught classes. She also worked in porcelain creating wildlife figurines which she sold at craft fairs.
Joyce became interested in holistic health and enrolled in Clayton College of Natural Health earning BS, MS and PhD degrees. She moved to Vermont and purchased a farm to grow herbs and prepare herbal remedies.
Vermont winters are long and oil painting became a wonderful new hobby and enjoyable way to pass the days until spring arrives.
Joyce feels her talent comes from within as a blessing from the Spirit of God. She loves painting landscapes and seascapes and follows the inner direction she receives. Joyce's original oil paintings are classified as "Impressionist" because the painting is a result of the artist's unique interpretation of the subject.
Her work is known as "Creating With Spirit". She hopes viewing her paintings will bring to you inner peace and appreciation of nature in all its splendor.
